Yin Yoga Teacher Training RYS 200hrs
Certified 200hrs. Yin Yoga Teacher Training,
with Eva de Hoijer
Unique in Amsterdam
A training designed for modern life
Our hybrid Yin Yoga Teacher Training is built around 3 separate modules. You can join any module individually, or complete all 3 to finish the full 200-hour training.
Each module combines 5 in-studio training days with 10 hours of online content, giving you both the flexibility and depth.
How each module flows
We meet in the studio every 3 weeks on a Saturday. After each studio day, you’ll receive access to a set of on-demand video lessons that you’ll study before the next in‑person session.
These online modules include both yin practice and theory, and together they take about 2,5 hours to complete after each training day. This online study is a mandatory and essential part of your learning process.
This helps you integrate the material and arrive prepared for the next step in your development.
What happens in the studio
Our in‑person days allow us to go deeper into:
✔ the physical practice of yin yoga
✔ hands‑on teaching skills
✔ integrating the theory you’ve learned online
There is also plenty of space for questions, discussion, and exploring the philosophical and anatomical foundations of yin yoga together.

Why this format works
This hybrid structure offers the best of both worlds:
✔ Flexibility to study at your own pace
✔ Time for integration between sessions
✔ Regular in‑person guidance to refine your practice and teaching skills
It’s a training designed to fit a busy lifestyle while still giving you the spaciousness needed to grow as a practitioner and future teacher.
Qualification
After competing all 3 modules, you are eligible for a Yoga Alliance Certification RYT-200 (Registered Yoga Teacher).
❗️Please note that if you do not have a previous yoga teacher diploma or experience with Yin Yoga, you are required to complete Modules 1 & 2 before you can start teaching Yin Yoga classes. Your 200-hour certificate will only be awarded after successfully completing all 3 modules.

Teaching methodology
Teaching what we have experienced and appreciated ourselves is a wonderful thing. This Yin Yoga Teacher Training prepares you to be able to teach a yin class and encourages you to develop as a teacher. We will look from a standpoint of positivity, truthfulness and respect. The aim is that you start to recognise and feel the teacher you are within.
In all 3 modules we will cover:
✔ How to teach Yin Yoga
✔ The integration of mindfulness, meditation and breathing exercises with Yin
✔ Finding your personal qualities as a yoga teacher
✔ How your own practice and growth is supporting you being a yoga teacher
✔ Responsibilities and ethics of a yoga teacher
✔ Modifications, adjustments and appropriate use of props
✔ Health issues and contra-indications
Module 1: Basic Training
Yin yoga is a science of body-mind. As a health based practice, Yin yoga integrates fully the physical as well as the psychological effects of the practice: balm for the nervous system, suppleness in body, clarity of mind.
You will learn the effects and strengths of the yin poses and how to use support to deepen the practice as well as understand how stillness and respect are the foundation of an effective yin yoga practice.
In this training we will cover:
✔ Learning Yin yoga poses
✔ Family of Yin yoga poses
✔ Counterposes/rebound effect
✔ Use of props
✔ Qualities and effects of Yin
✔ Fascia and stretching
✔ Anatomy & Physiology (connective tissue, joints, bones, communication system)
✔ Basic contra indications
Module 2: Mindfulness & Nervous System
Mindfulness develops our compassion and knowledge of the way we are driven by our thinking. Non-judgmental and open-minded we learn to stay with our experience, exactly how it is. Mindfulness is deepening our self-knowledge enormously. In yin yoga we target our fascia, which is closely interwoven with our nervous system. Therefore we can influence the signals from our brain to our body and back, giving us the opportunity for regulation and release.
In this training we will cover:
✔ Theory of mindfulness
✔ Practice of Mindfulness
✔ The workings of our nervous system
✔ Stress response in body and mind
✔ Relaxation response
✔ The inner connection of fascia and nervous system
Module 3: Meditation & Pranayama
We will practice the ancient Buddhist meditation of breath awareness, concentration meditation and open awareness. We will cultivate stillness by practicing and learning how to deal with obstacles we come across.
Our breath is a bridge as well as a tool, between our conscious and unconscious mind. Regulated by our nervous system and informed by events that are happening inside and outside of us. Breath is always there: in yin practice, our mindfulness/meditation practice as well on its own.
In this training we will cover:
✔ Background of meditation
✔ Theory of meditation
✔ Practice of meditation
✔ Different kinds of meditation
✔ Obstacles we can encounter
✔ Different breathing exercises (pranayamas)
✔ Energizing vs calming effects
✔ The workings of our respiratory system
✔ Stress and the connection with breath

After this training, will I be ready to start as a yoga teacher?
When you’ve completed this training and have received the Tula certificate we trust you to be a capable yoga teacher. You’ve learned all the basic principles to provide a wonderful class, so you’re ready to teach. However, if this is your first training you will notice that there’s so much more to learn that doesn’t fit into one 200hour training. Therefore you can see your first training as a strong foundation to build on.
How can I register at Yoga Alliance after completing the training?
You can register at Yoga Alliance after completing all 3 modules of the training. You will then receive your official certificate which is needed for the registration.
Can I teach Yin Yoga after completing a module?
If you do not have a previous yoga teacher diploma or experience with Yin Yoga, you are required to complete Modules 1 & 2 before you can start teaching Yin Yoga classes.
Your 200-hour Yoga Alliance Certificate will only be awarded after successfully completing all 3 modules.
How big is the group?
This is a small group training. Only 9 yogis will be admitted per module.
How many training days may be missed?
You cannot miss a in-studio training day to be eligible for the certificate. When you miss a day, you need to book private yoga classes with the lead trainer to make up for the missed day(s). When you’ve missed too many days you can’t receive a certificate.
How much study time can I expect?
Besides the training days and online hours, you may expect about 2 hours of studying per week.
I don’t think I want to become a yoga teacher, is that okay?
It certainly is. Usually halve of the participants join this training to strengthen and deepen their own practice. That’s totally fine. It will give you great personal insights as well, besides all the yoga information.
How can I know if this yoga teacher training is right for me?
We always advise to meet the lead trainer in advance. You can join a class or we can schedule a call. Please send an email to hello@tulayogastudios.nl to schedule a call. It’s very important that you feel a connection with the teacher(s) and the studio. If the feeling is not right you won’t enjoy the full potential of the training. We wrote a blog article about choosing the right yoga teacher training (in Dutch) that might be helpful > blog

A new way of learning
This unique training is the new modern way of delivering a Yoga teacher training.
The major part of the training will be in-person in the bright and lofty studio of Tula Yogastudio’s. These days will be focused around the yoga practice, teaching skills and learning on a deeper level.
The training is enriched with extensive online education modules. With this you will seek introspection, do theoretical studies and practice for yourself (or together).
This modern method makes the training suitable for a busy lifestyle, since it’s more flexibel with less in-person contact hours. Nevertheless it brings extra learning opportunities by providing the option to rewatch and review all the content as many times as you please.
This hybrid model is certified by Yoga Alliance and ensures a high quality and high impact training. You can register as certified 200-hrs. Yoga Teacher at Yoga Alliance after successfully completing this training.

Benefits of Yin Yoga in your daily life
Yin Yoga, Mindfulness and Meditation are inseparable and are excellent tools which can help us to stay here and now and reduce the stress response.
When you stay longer in a Yin pose, you create space where you can recognise your reactive thinking patterns, let them be and investigate them with loving kindness and self-compassion. You can see your thoughts and emotions as waves in the ocean of your consciousness. It helps you to get out of the vicious circle of repetitive thinking and to find peace again.
Yin Yoga is a slow-paced approach practice where poses are held for a longer period of time in a relaxed way, up to 5 minutes or more. The practice requires little muscle engagement, which helps develop physical relaxation and flexibility. The real challenge of Yin Yoga lies in the ability to remain still and stay mindful and present with what comes up during the poses.
Yin Yoga is a method that teaches you to let go and surrender, to slow down and stop identifying with the streams of thoughts and emotions, cultivating a deeper state of relaxation.
Yin yoga is helping us physically, mentally as well as emotionally to stay grounded, healthy and experience real restfulness. In a Yin yoga class, all these qualities are practiced.
Physically we open our body specifically on the level of connective tissue, our ‘Yin tissue’. By applying gentle stretch we keep our joints, bones and connective tissue healthy and resilient.
Also we train our nervous system to release and move into a rest and digest mode. Our mind has the opportunity to calm and switch to a broader awareness. We start to feel the more subtle energetic processes in ourselves, how the connection of our mind with our body works and the other way around. It is an exploration of silence and stillness, we practice the art of resting and pausing.

Eva de Hoijer
We proudly present the lead teacher of this Yin Yoga Teacher Training, Eva de Hoijer.
“Hi, my name is Eva and my passion is to introduce as many people as possible to all the good that yoga can bring.
Yoga and meditation came on my path when I went out into the world after my studies. In India I did my first yoga pose and after that, yoga never left my life again. After many years of traveling, I returned to the Netherlands and worked in the business world for many years. At the same time, my yoga practice and my curiosity about the whole philosophy and theory of yoga deepened enormously. Yoga has been a part of my life for 20 years now and has a great influence on how I feel and live.
I have studied many forms of yoga and have arrived at my great loves: Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Mindfulness and Meditation. Besides this I’m also a dedicated practitioner of Vinyasa yoga. I have been practicing, teaching and training for years now and have owned a yoga studio as well.
I am fascinated by the connection of body and mind and the interaction between them. My approach is modern, light, positive and based on the latest scientific research. I feel the learning never stops!
My passion is to introduce people to all the benefits that yoga, mindfulness and meditation bring. To experience that regular practice brings lasting change for the good, both at a personal level as well in connection with the world around us.
My classes and trainings are a place where you are invited to work on the health of your body and mind through yoga.
I look forward to meeting you!”
