Yin Yoga Teacher Training
200hrs. Yin Yoga Teacher Training based on the teachings of Paul and Suzee Grilley, by Hellen van der Harten.
We would love to teach you how to become an excellent teacher in this beautiful practice yourself. Yin yoga is a passive, nourishing form of yoga, helping us to open up our heart, calming our nervous system, and providing a space for the body to deeply relax’. Yin yoga stretches and targets both the deep connective tissues and the fascia throughout the body. The aim is to increase circulation in the joints and improve flexibility. This is done by poses that stretch and exercise the bone and joint areas. It also helps us to regulate the body’s flow of energy.
Introduction to the Yin Yoga teacher training
“The backbone of the yin yoga teacher training is anatomy because without an understanding of muscles and joints true confidence in teaching is elusive. This anatomical insight is crucial when dealing with injuries, contraindications and the logic of adjustments and variations. Anatomy is a vast subject but the basics, properly understood, clarifies and simplifies all yoga practice, regardless of style.” ~ Paul Grilley
This Yin Yoga Teacher Training program will give you a deep understanding of how the body functions physically and energetically. Benefits of Yin Yoga in your daily life
Yin Yoga and Mindfulness are inseparable and are excellent tools which can help us to stay here and now and reduce the stress response.
When you stay longer in a Yin pose, you create space where you can recognise your reactive thinking patterns, let them be and investigate them with loving kindness and self-compassion. You can see your thoughts and emotions as waves in the ocean of your consciousness. It helps you to get out of the vicious circle of repetitive thinking and to find peace again.

Hellen van der Harten
“My life as an independent filmmaker and mother of two children was quite hectic. Very yang-like. I used to do a lot of gymnastics to keep in shape. When I discovered Yoga it felt like coming home. The deep meditative and relaxing effects of yoga and specially yin yoga balanced my life so well. I love to share the experience and practice with others.
Over 20 years ago I started with Pilates. A few years later I discovered yoga. It was love at first ‘practice’.
After all these years of practice and more then 1300 hours of training with great teachers all over the world, I lead my own Yin Teacher Training Program (since 2015), many classes and workshops in and around Amsterdam.” ~Hellen van der Harten
