After this training, will I be ready to start as a yoga teacher?
When you’ve completed this training and have received the TULA certificate we trust you to be a capable yoga teacher. You’ve learned all the basic principles to provide a wonderful class, so you’re ready to teach. However, if this is your first training you will notice that there’s so much more to learn that doesn’t fit into one 200hour training. Therefore you can see your first training as a strong foundation to build on.

How many training days may be missed?
Of course we prefer you don’t miss a day, but if it happens you may miss two training days. When you miss more you can choose to book private yoga classes with the lead trainers. When you’ve missed to many days you can’t receive a certificate.

How much study time can I expect?
Besides the training days and joining yoga classes you may expect about 2 hours of studying per week.

I don’t think I want to become a yoga teacher, is that okay?
It certainly is. Usually halve of the participants join this training to strengthen and deepen their own practice. That’s totally fine. It will give you great personal insights as well, besides all the yoga information.

How can I know if this yoga teacher training is right for me?
We always advise to join one of the free introduction sessions at TULA, but also at other yoga studios. It’s very important that you feel a connection with the teacher(s) and the studio. If the feeling is not right you won’t enjoy the full potential of the training. We wrote a blog article about choosing the right yoga teacher training (in Dutch) that might be helpful > blog

Eva created this 200 hours Teacher Training in such a way that it gives you frequent training weekends, but also time to digest the things you learned. In between every training weekend you’ll have two or three weeks to practice what you’ve learned and study for the upcoming weekend.

Besides the training days you will need to make time to practice and study (homework)

Benefits of Yin Yoga in your daily life

Yin Yoga and Mindfulness are inseparable and are excellent tools which can help us to stay here and now and reduce the stress response.
When you stay longer in a Yin pose, you create space where you can recognise your reactive thinking patterns, let them be and investigate them with loving kindness and self-compassion. You can see your thoughts and emotions as waves in the ocean of your consciousness. It helps you to get out of the vicious circle of repetitive thinking and to find peace again.

Yin Yoga is a slow-paced approach practice where poses are held for a longer period of time in a relaxed way, up to 5 minutes or more. The practice requires little muscle engagement, which helps develop physical relaxation and flexibility. The real challenge of Yin Yoga lies in the ability to remain still and stay mindful and present with what comes up during the poses.

Yin Yoga is a method that teaches you to let go and surrender, to slow down and stop identifying with the streams of thoughts and emotions, cultivating a deeper state of relaxation.

On the physical level, Yin Yoga targets bones, joints and connective tissues. It’s not about how the pose looks (aesthetic) but about what we feel (function), which makes the Yin Yoga approach very liberating.

On the energetic level, Yin Yoga reconnects with its roots of Taoist yoga, and uses the ancient map and modern theory of the meridian system, the long holds in Yin Yoga restore harmony in the subtle body by stimulating the chi (energy) in the channels that run through the connective tissues.

This Yin Yoga Teacher Training program will give you a deep understanding of how the body functions physically and energetically. You will be able to see and respond to people, their bodies, and their potential. Moreover, you will learn about: bones, muscles, fascia, joints, movements, organs and connective tissue, chakra’s, chi, meridians and meridian pathways, pranayama and meditation.

With this knowledge, you will be able to create personalised and therapeutic Yin Yoga classes suited for everyone’s physical and energetic needs. You can register as certified 200-hrs. Yoga Teacher at Yoga Alliance after successfully completing this training.

Lead trainer

We proudly present the lead teacher of this Yin Yoga Teacher Training, Eva de Hoijer.

“Hi, my name is Eva and my passion is to introduce as many people as possible to all the good that yoga can bring.

Yoga and meditation came on my path when I went out into the world after my studies. In India I did my first yoga pose and after that, yoga never left my life again. After many years of traveling, I returned to the Netherlands and worked in the business world for many years. At the same time, my yoga practice and my curiosity about the whole philosophy and theory of yoga deepened enormously. Yoga has been a part of my life for 20 years now and has a great influence on how I feel and live.

I have studied many forms of yoga and have arrived at my great loves: Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Mindfulness and Meditation. Besides this I’m also a dedicated practitioner of Vinyasa yoga. I have been practicing, teaching and training for years now and have owned a yoga studio as well.

I am fascinated by the connection of body and mind and the interaction between them. My approach is modern, light, positive and based on the latest scientific research. I feel the learning never stops!

My passion is to introduce people on a deeper level to all the benefits that yoga, mindfulness and meditation bring. To experience that regular practice brings lasting change for the good, both at a personal level as well in connection with the world around us.

My classes and trainings are a place where you are invited to work on the health of your body and mind through yoga.

I look forward to meeting you!”

Yoga Nidra (or Yogic sleep practice) means sleep with a trace of awareness. It is a state of mind between wakefulness and dream. During the practice of Nidra, our consciousness travels from one layer of consciousness to another.  In this masterclass with Moena you will gain knowledge about sleep, dreams, and the controlling centres of the brain.
