Restorative Yoga Teacher Training
Learn the artful skills of how to teach Restorative Yoga in this 50 hour training
This course will cover subjects from the proper usage of props to physiological relaxation. You will come to understand all of the layers and dimensions of the body – the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual – and how a restorative posture can impact them for release and renewal.
Humans have a tendency to accumulate tension due to physical and emotional stress, exhaustion, and other factors, and when our physical or energy-centers and channels are out of harmony our vital force is unable to freely circulate, resulting in distress, disease, or a lack of mind and body integrity. Restorative yoga invites us to relax, re-establish and renew integrity in all of our layers.
For the most part however our students do not know how to observe inside, what is happening and where tensions are accumulating, and when they do gain awareness they do not know how to release them. People stay attached to tension and pain, and the restorative practice – with the proper asana and sequencing for specific cases – can guide them in learning how to let go.
Restorative is the art of learning how to release the body and mind, from the skin all the way into the depth of the connective tissues and bones. The teacher is the guiding voice during this practice, one where we can often stay supported in a posture for over 10 minutes, and that is the where restorative works, into the depth of body, beyond time and in a place where less is more.
A proper restorative class has fewer postures, less sound,
and less but incisive words, yet it brings out so much more.
The use of breath in restorative is essential. What it does, why it’s important and how to use it effectively to alter physiology for a deeper trance and healing experience. Very specific forms of breathing suitable for restorative will be explored through practice.
You will also learn how external inputs affect the nervous system, creating deeper accumulations in the body and mind.In deep restorative, we go to the trigger points of accumulation, dissolving tension by correcting skeletal alignment and releasing the joints, muscles, tendons, deeper tissues, fascia and skin, with the help of props, breathing techniques and complete relaxation.

Cristina Guerra – lead teacher
Your lead teacher in the training will be Cristina Guerra, who also teaches the Yoga Nidra teacher training at TULA. Originally from Portugal Cristina settled in Amsterdam and has been part of the TULA crew since 2016.
Cristina has an incredible record of trainings she followed and taught. Starting in Indonesia where she became a 500-RYT ( 500 hours registered yoga teacher). After this training she went on studying meditation, restorative and yoga nidra in another 300hrs. teacher training.
Since beginning her yoga journey, Cristina has developed an increasing interest in yoga’s curative aspects and potential for personal and spiritual growth, undertaking complementary training in quantum touch, reiki and arts’ psychotherapy while deepening her knowledge of the Tantric meditation, Kriya Yoga, and Yoga Nidra traditions.
Cristina has been engaged as a healing therapist for over ten years, and with her knowledge of and natural affinity with reiki and Quantum Touch is attuned to the sensitivities of her classes and individual students, using the techniques of each to promote and enhance energetic connections. This empathetic disposition is further supported by Cristina’s academic studies in psychology and arts’ psychotherapy, in particular regard to her conversance with therapeutic and behavioural approaches.
This amazing experience combined with the warm and caring character of Cristina makes her our perfect teacher for the restorative teacher training.
